About

In the end, we are all only stories.

Allow me to introduce myself…

Media is my medium. I approach projects with earnest curiosity. Whether it it through photography, audio, or video I revel in capturing the details. Every frame adds depth to the story. When writing, I’m drawn to the point where human conviction meets immovable forces: an economic system, a political ideology, a changing climate.

Uncovering where natural tensions emerge.

It’s how I tapped into the undercurrent of economic precarity and rage of musicians through the resurgence of working-class anthems. It’s why the stories of climate event survivors, edited through the night, never really left me. They both haunt me and inspire my work.

Authentic stories can resonate from any topic, but they require patience to uncover. My role isn’t to be the loudest voice, but to act as a conduit for those whose stories need to be heard—to build a narrative with the clarity that takes into account historical context in the modern landscape. That recognizes patterns and is commited to honoring the best of all lost arts – truth.

I’m aware it’s not always ‘that deep,’ and that truth can be simple. It can be light-hearted and it can be coexist with contradictory truths. Understanding the nuances is what allows me to uncover, verify, and translate those truths. That being said, I’m not blind to the news landscape and attention span crisis, but if you are looking for a writer to draft clickbait? With the utmost respect, that’s not me.

However, if you want someone you can mentor; who takes direction with gratitude, who is eager to prove themselves, who is dedicated to producing quality pieces, who takes accountability and will get their hands dirty without complaint, who works to anticipate team needs, and chases down original stories. That is who I am. I’m driven to look deeper, to investigate, and understand.

My name is Jessie Bach.
It’s nice to meet you.

Thanks for reading.
